"this is where I workout, you should totally do this!" - Liz
... and Just like any fun event on a Friday night Courtney (29) and Kelsey (26) are friends and coworkers that do recruiting during the day were roped into training by their fellow co-worker Liz who was already working out at Athletic Preparation.
The timing was right and they wanted to see what they could achieve in just 6-weeks of their training.
Despite being nervous and considering the factors of “is this too much”, “can I trust the coach” and “am I going to have fun, or is this going to be another failed attempt”
…It took some convincing
(and we are sure glad we could help give them the diet plans, coaching and guidance they needed)
but they trusted us, decided to jump in and give it the good ol’ “college try” And this is what they achieved and learned while training at Athletic Preparation :)
Why did you decide to train at Athletic Preparation?
Courtney: I tried everything from crossfit to at-home DVD workouts. Fitness wasn’t always a priority and
I would tell myself that I was too busy. But coming into the New Year, I wanted to take my fitness more
seriously. One of my coworkers, Liz, recommended Athletic Preparation. She raved about their services
and what they offered, so I joined!
Kelsey: In the past, I didn’t join any gyms because I didn’t know how to train. I didn’t know what
exercises to do or even how to do them. What I liked about Athletic Preparation is that they walk you
through every exercise so we know what to do on our own.
What was your biggest obstacle before starting at Athletic Preparation?
Courtney: My biggest obstacle was not having a set routine that included a meal plan to make me
Successful.
Kelsey: My biggest obstacle was I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t know what type of meal plan I
needed or what I should do at the gym. When I came to Athletic Preparation and everything was laid
out, it’s much easier to follow. This becomes second nature so now I know what to do.
What was your experience training at Athletic Preparation?
Courtney: At Athletic Preparation, you get individualized attention, which changes everything because
we were doing workouts wrong before coming here. I lost 14 pounds and 4 percent body fat. With
these results, of course anyone would love it! It feels good - that’s for sure.
Kelsey: We had a great experience! The meal plan was straightforward and easy to follow. The workouts
were great and the schedule is great. I lost 5 percent body fat and 8 pounds while on the 6-week
Program.
What results did you achieve while training at Athletic Preparation?
Courtney: I lost 14 pounds and 4 percent body fat. I feel a lot of success because I feel strong. Not only
are we getting stronger, but we’re learning how to lift properly so we’re getting the most effective
workout. Plus, I feel less anxiety about what to eat during the day because I have a plan. Now, I don’t
want to diverge from that because I see the results.
Kelsey: I lost 5 percent body fat and 8 pounds. After week 2, I began seeing results daily. Seeing my
clothes become too big along with other people noticing my results, really drove me. Plus, our skin looks
better and we sleep better.
What advice would you give a person who wants to start training?
Courtney: Just get started and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Kelsey: Just do it! Having people to do it with really helps keep everyone on track.
